*COVID-19: We are committed to helping our community through this crisis. To that end, our incredible portfolio companies have many materials and products to assist in this time of need, and we will be promoting them in this series. We’ll get through this together - read on and stay tuned.

This post was written by Peter Verrillo, CEO and co-founder of our portfolio company Enhatch.

The Enhatch office is on the Hoboken waterfront, directly across the Hudson River from one of the greatest cities in the world, New York City. In early March, we heard what was happening in Italy, and soon thereafter, we saw the direct impacts of the pandemic as it began devastating New York. With Covid-19 rapidly shutting down medical device procedures and surgeries, we realized that we had to pivot, and pivot fast.

Enhatch uses AI to enhance implant design, expedite surgical technique, optimize inventory logistics, and simplify clinical workflows. Every day, thousands of sales reps rely on Enhatch to ensure that all the correct implants and instruments are available for surgery. With infection rates skyrocketing in hospitals, we knew that we needed to build a way to keep those reps safe. So we quickly pulled our team and resources together to create RepVision.

RepVision is a mobile application providing a collaborative experience for sales reps, OR staff, and surgeons that gives remote access into surgery, enabling users to:

  • Schedule remote cases

  • Leverage high definition video with responsive zoom and pan during surgery

  • Remotely control the operative technique, video, or 3D model, including laser pointer implementation for greater accuracy

Importantly, unlike other systems on the market like Zoom and Webex, RepVision is built on an enterprise-grade platform that can handle the scale and security of surgeries, gives the participants the ability to zoom in or out on the screen and pan the full-screen video, and is 100% HIPAA compliant to ensure and protect patient confidentiality.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, our first priority is to ensure the safety and health of our surgeons, OR staff, and sales reps who support these cases. There are over 350,000 medical device salespeople who support millions of surgeries every year. I am proud and excited to be able to provide this ground-breaking, safety-enhancing service during this turbulent time.

What I am even more excited about is that we are giving away up to 100 hours of live surgery time per month to any medical device sales rep who signs up during the crisis - You are the unsung heroes of the industry and we want to thank you.

To sign up for our waitlist, visit enhatch.com/repvision and join the thousands of other reps that can rest assured that they have a backup plan while they don't have physical access to the OR.

Sincerely,
Peter
